What is the ideal Progesterone to Estrogen ratio?
We can test how efficient is a progesterone cream by doing saliva tests.
Over the last 14 years, many women using Natpro Progesterone Cream have done regular saliva testing. And every time they’ve come back with excellent results. Not only does the progesterone level increase substantially, but the clients feel well which the main objective is!
Please take a look at Judy’s saliva tests’ results, a ‘before’ and ‘after’ which gives an excellent comparison. You’ll see the progesterone has increased substantially in only a month.
The progesterone level is 4000pg/ml and her estrogen 5pg/ml. making her progesterone to estrogen ratio 800:1, which is good. I’ve found it should be 600:1 and over to feel well.

How to work out the P:E2 ratio?
Many women are told their progesterone and oestrogen levels are ‘normal’. But the critical factor is not the LEVELS but the RATIO of progesterone to oestrogen, often written P:E2.
Finding the ratio is easy if saliva tests are performed… just divide the oestrogen result into the progesterone result. An often overlooked complication is that in blood tests, oestrogen is measured in pg/ml and progesterone in ng/ml. A pg is 1000 times smaller than a ng, so divide the oestrogen result by 1000 to convert it to ng.
Then divide this into the progesterone result. Here’s an example…
If the serum oestrogen result was 250pg/ml and the progesterone 5ng/ml,
250 by 1000 = 0.25ng/ml
5 by 0.25 = 20
So the ratio of progesterone to oestrogen is 20:1
From Saliva Tests that we have run, we’ve found the ratio should be 600:1 to feel well.
